Indomie - Instant Noodle

INDOMIE
Indomie is a brand of instant noodles by Indofood Sukses Makmur, the world's largest instant noodle manufacturer, located in Indonesia. It is distributed in Australia, Asia, Africa, the United States and European and Middle Eastern countries. Indofood is one of Indonesia's largest pre-packaged food companies, and was founded in 1982 by Sudono Salim.


Description

Indomie is a form of instant noodle, but spiced for the Indonesian palate. The most popular flavor is Indomie Mi Goreng, followed by Indomie Soto Mie, Indomie Ayam Bawang (Chicken Onion), Indomie Kari (Curry), Indomie Kaldu Ayam (Chicken) and Indomie Ayam Spesial (Special Chicken).

Both Indomie and IndoMie can be used to describe the brand.

Several advertisements in Indonesia shows a variety of customers ate Indomie, usually ended by the chorus "Indomie, Seleraku"

* In 2005, Indomie broke the Guinness Book of World Records category for “The Largest Packet of Instant Noodles” , creating a packet that was 3.4m x 2.355m x 0.47m, with a net weight of 664.938 kg, which is about 8,000 times the weight of a regular pack of instant noodles. It was made using the same ingredients as a regular pack of instant noodle and was certified fit for human consumption.
* On December 13, 2009, Roger Ebert, popular film critic from US for Chicago Sun-Times, ranked Indomie in one of his "Twelve Gifts of Christmas" in position #1.
* On January 3, 2010, Indomie launched the new pack design from its company.



Indomie Mi goreng

Indomie Mi goreng is an instant noodles product line made under the Indomie brand by the Indofood company, the world's largest instant noodle manufacturer, located in Indonesia. The product entered the market in 1982 and has since been in demand in many parts of the world including the US, Australia, UK, Middle East and China.[1] Variants of this dish include serving it with shrimp and scallions,omelette or with Peri Peri sauce.

Wheat flour (62%), refined palm oil (contains antioxidant 319), tapioca starch, salt, mineral salts (501, 500), vegetable gum (412), colour (101)

Seasoning powder
Salt, sugar, flavour enhancers (monosodium glutamate|621, 631, 627), garlic powder, onion powder, yeast extract, flavours, pepper, anti caking agent (551).

Seasoning oil
Refined palm oil (contains antioxidant 319), onion, tocopherol.

Sweet soy sauce
Sugar, water, salt, wheat, soy bean, spices, sesame oil.

Chilli powder
Dry powdered chilli.


Dietary information

Indomie Mi Goreng is certified Halal (حلال, halāl, halaal).

Indomie Mi Goreng contains phenylalanine, so individuals suffering from phenylketonuria should avoid the seasoning. Indomie Mi Goreng also contains Monosodium glutamate (MSG : listed as flavour enhancer 621), making it unsuitable for some individuals with "severe, poorly controlled asthma".[5] Additionally flavour enhancer 631 is derived from either meat or sardines and flavour enhancer 627 is derived from either sardines or yeast extract. The inclusion of flavour enhancer 631 effectively makes Indomine Mi goreng unsuitable for vegetarians and vegans.
